ABOUT ZAYDE BUTI

I am an artist from Boston known to make music with computers and shout fast food menus from mountain tops. My inspirations include logos, hamburgers, and Sufi poetry. Myspace will tell you I'm "Comedy/Hip-Hop/Other," but I've yet to find a term that better suits my genre than "me."

I independently released "i'm lovin' it," my full-length debut, in early 2011.

My character-based works engage contemporary social issues ranging from fast food advertising to the sublime pleasures of eating. I am a descendent of performance art, musical theater, and spoken-word traditions. I've played extensively throughout Boston, from well-known clubs like The Middle East to the McDonald's across the street. People have called my work "funny," "smart," and "weird."
